Communicate In Print 2 Training Workshops

We all use symbols to some extent in our daily lives, for example 'no smoking' and 'fire exit' signs.  Computer technology means that standard symbols can now be used by many individuals with speech, language and communication needs to improve communication skills and make information more accessible.

Communicate in Print is designed for those wanting to make printed symbol resources.  These can be imported into other programmes, such as word processing software, desktop publishing to make a variety of items. Those who would benefit from the Workshop include:-

• Parents and carers
• Speech and Language Therapy departments
• Schools and nurseries (especially SENCOs and TAs)
• Social Services departments
• Voluntary organisations

The one day Workshops are run by our symbol trainer, Karen Clarke.  The course begins by giving delegates a thorough tutorial in how to use the Communicate In Print 2 software to create and manipullate symbols.  Following this Karen assists delegates to use the software for practical uses to begin to create resources appropriate to their own area of work, thus gathering an understanding of how CIP2 can work for them.



Workshops for up to four delegates are run at our Centre in Ashford, usually on Tuesdays.  Pricing per delegate, which includes lunch, is £60 for parents and carers (in unpaid roles) and £100 for paid carers and professionals.  If you require training for more than four delegates please call for prices.
