These are suitable for children and adults with profound needs. People who cannot handle items directly (e.g. because of cerebral palsy, strokes etc.) can use specially adapted toys and rewards with a switch to experience cause and effect.

Use the switch and a toy, sensory item, or other reward will produce an effect. For example, Mongo Monkey will sing "If you're happy and you know it" and clap his hands, or the Inclusive MP3 Player will stop, start or skip to the next track, depending on which switch is pressed.

The toys are valuable both in providing play experience and also in encouraging the user to gain simple switch-skills. These skills can then be progressed and applied to the operation of communication aids and computer games.
