Redhead Ramblings
Hi all, as you probably know the bungee event went well and yes.... im still alive after my 200 foot leap!!!! We will be running the bungee event again in the New Year, so anyone who missed the first one will get a chance to jump.. or jump again!!!
Liz, Rob and myself have all begun a slim down here at the office. Things are going well!! I lay in bed last night with a packet of cheese balls n a box of Thorntons and Rob spent the weekend stuffing himself with Maccy D!!!!! Happy days!!!! im loving the losing weight lark.... NOT!! Why is it i never eat chocolate until i decide to diet, whereupon i suddenly aquire an insatiable craving for the stuff... its all wrong!!!!!!
Hi.. and welcome to my first blog entry!!!!
Life for me has changed dramatically since Liz and I took on the running of Find a Voice.... but what a buzz, I'm enjoying the challenge no end.
My first challenge was to rearrange the ICT lessons, I felt there were computers going to waste in the office and they should be being used! So... we now how have 2 students at a time having I.T. lessons. So far all is going well, the students are enjoying working together, We are helping raise our revenue and as a result are helping people further a field.
We are now also in full swing with the ASDAN course in Personal and Social Development and all students are enjoying the work and are doing extremely well. A few of the students have expressed a wish to improve their English skills, so... I have now applied for further courses in Literacy, Numeracy and I.T!!. Where will it stop I hear you ask!!!! Well, as far as I'm concerned if you guys wanna learn... i'll teach!!!!
As a special treat for Liz, myself and the students, a trip to see the famous Michael Jackson impersonator "Navi" has been arranged for the 21st of November, everyone is looking forward to it immensely!. I'll post some photos of the night on here after the event.
Well, as you can see... everything is running with perfect ease so far.... cough.... splutter.. Ok.. I lie, not everything is running smoothly. I need to take this opportunity to admit that im not everybody's friend here. There have been a few friendship problems within the ranks of Find a Voice!! Somebody here hates me... somebody here clams up when I go near, has even spat at me on the odd occasion too!!!! Well, I can say now that the feeling is mutual.. Yes.. you know who you are... THAT GOD DAMN PRINTER!!!!!!!! Oh woe how it hates me!!!!! but I'll persevere towards a friendly working relationship as im a professional; but... nights out? forget it!!!!
So, what else has been happening? Well the sponsored walk and BBQ was a great success, we all had fun and raised around £650 in the process. Were now awaiting the day of our bungee jump... the 3rd of October will see around 40 mad people throwing themselves off a 200 foot crane, myself included and dressed as Tigger!!! If you would like to come and watch you'll find us mad fools getting ready to jump at around 12pm at the Queens Head pub in Kingsnorth. Were hoping to have a DJ play as we fall and face painting for the kids... and adults after a few beers for dutch courage, there are places left if you'd like to jump so give me a call for a pack!!!
Right, that's my news in brief so far, hope to see you all at the bungee on the 3rd.......
Lots of love
